“Today, we’re excited to bring better thinking to even more people with reMarkable Paper Pure”
The flagship film announcing reMarkable Paper Pure, broadcast globally at launch. The goal was reach and engagement. The film had to introduce the product across the markets where reMarkable sells, carry the campaign message, and perform well enough on YouTube to be pushed to both existing customers and people who had never previously heard of reMarkable.
Presented entirely by people from inside the company — the chief product officer, a lead product experience designer and a senior software engineer.
I first built and pitched the content strategy, working from the product benefits we wanted to highlight, the business strategy, and how the YouTube algorithm rewards and promotes content based on performance. That meant designing for retention past the first thirty seconds, and for the click-throughs, rewatches, comments and shares that all count as ranking signals.
From that I mapped the content blocks. Hardware and software were broken down so each benefit could be presented simply, and the two Use Case films were recut and slotted into the narrative spine. The campaign line, “Made for thinking” — and reMarkable’s broader ethos of better thinking — was captured throughout, among other things by a segment told through science, with neuroscientists explaining what handwriting does for the brain.
